This seminar offers an insightful and multidimensional approach to couple’s therapy, the Couple’s Communication Enrichment Program. It includes a review of the primary theories, historically, as they relate to therapy with couples. Communication will be defined and research regarding the various forms of communication will be addressed.
 
 The Couple’s Communication Enrichment Program will be described  including both the evaluative and the therapeutic aspects to the program. The CCEP program assists mental health professionals, clinicians and other professionals working with couples to be better able to confidently assess couple's communication patterns to incorporate for use in positive, trust enhancing therapy techniques. The one day training is an interactive seminar which includes many examples and practical real life therapy applications to assist professionals in gaining the most out of their experience!

Seminar Objectives

This seminar is designed to help professionals develop their knowledge of and competence in working with couples, increasing their clinical skills, and maximizing the quality of outcomes achieved with couples. On completion attendees will be better able to:

DESCRIBE the Intimate Communication Model.

DEMONSTRATE how the CCES should be administrated ethically.

EXPLAIN how to interpret the CCES results.

EXPLAIN how to apply the results of the CCES to couple’s therapy.

UTILIZE the Couple’s Communication Enrichment Program (CCEP) strategies to help couples communicate more effectively.

Craig West, Psy.D. specializes in Clinical and Forensic Psychology and is the founder and director of the Couple’s Communication Enrichment Program (CCEP). The detailed and informative test used within the CCEP program, The Couple’s Communicative Evaluation Scale (CCES), was also developed and researched by Dr. Craig West. In addition, he authored the “Clinical Utility and Validation of the Couple’s Communicative Evaluation Scale.” Dr. Craig West is a licensed psychologist with over 10 years of experience. He is the owner of  PSYCHWEST, Clinical and Forensic Psychology, a company which specializes in clinical and forensic psychology including family and couple’s evaluations and therapy. 

Dr. West manages an on-line continuing education program and lectures other professionals regarding therapeutic constructs and applications of couples’ counseling. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association and California Psychological Association. Dr. West is an enthusiastic presenter who provides quality, effective couple’s therapy and has helped couples with all levels of difficulties. He has a passion for the practical application of the CCEP program for use with couples. Dr. West’s presentation style is infectious and he offers highly effective methods in a humorous manner.
