This practical
two-day workshop is designed to prepare participants to use the
Rorschach
Performance Assessment System (R-PAS) in applied settings and
research. This workshop focuses on the development of proficiency
in coding and administration, and provides a basic introduction to
interpretation. Participants should have previous experience with
Rorschach-based assessment.
The workshop begins with a delineation of the key administration,
inquiry/clarification, coding, calculation, and normative difference
between the Comprehensive System and R-PAS. Training in the
subtleties of proper administration, inquiry and coding follow and
continue into the second day. Attendees will have an opportunity
to practice coding. On the afternoon of the second day, the
practical features of R-PAS interpretation are illustrated by applying
the system to a clinical case. Participants will also be
introduced to the new child norms and the online computer system and
resources.
More than 90 years since its introduction, the Rorschach remains of the
most powerful methods for studying personality in action, but it is
time
to bring it into the 21st century. R-PAS is a new, evidenced
focused Rorschach system based on the latest available research.
It emphasizes those aspects of test performance that have strongest
empirical foundation, the most transparent connections with underlying
psychological processes, the greatest utility as rated by experienced
Rorschach users, and the most reliable normative comparisons.
This
approach is based on an appreciation of the Rorschach task providing a
sample of behavior that allows one to base personality inferences on
performance.

To best
prepare
for the R-PAS Basic Workshop, it is helpful if attendees read Chapters
1, 2, and 3 in the R-PAS Manual (The
Rorschach
Performance
Assessment System, Administration, Coding, Interpretation and Technical
Manual, Meyer,
Viglione, Mihura, Erard, &
Erdberg, 2011).
The manual is available at the
R-PAS website (www.r-pas.org). After
registering for the workshop a 10%
discount code will be forwarded to you so that you can order it.
You will also be eligible for an R-PAS account, and one free online
scoring and processing of the Rorschach protocol.
