The Narrative Practice & Collaborative Inquiry
(NCPI) Study Group
The NPCI
E-Learning
Modules
Alliant
International University is pleased to announce a partnership with The
Narrative Practice & Collaborative Inquiry (NCPI) Study Group.
Members of the NPCI Study Group pursue their studies of narrative
practice and collaborative inquiry within a password protected study
group forum. Registered study group members can sign up for “NPCI
E-Learning Modules” to earn CE credits while following the study group
schedule for guided self-paced study of readings, recordings, and guest
authors. E-learning modules are interactive, providing opportunities to
engage with an international group of practitioners and directly
consult with guest authors. A yearly $200 US "club membership," gives
all study group members access to the media library and discussion
boards.
Please note you need to sign up for the NPCI
Study Group first before you can register for the learning
modules.
Peggy Sax, PhD author of the book,
"Re-authoring
Teaching: Creating a Collaboratory", guides the
learning modules within the NPCI Study Group. She is in
independent practice in Middlebury, Vermont, as a psychologist,
consultant, workshop leader and university instructor.

Testimonials
"In some 40 years
working as a psychoanalyst, my experience has been that interpretations
aroused associations, memories, etc that led to the “unconscious” that
is to say, how deeply rooted my patients neuroses were. As I’ve started
to incorporate some narrative instruments, my surprise is that on their
own, my clients are bringing memories, associations, etc about how
competent and resilient they have been in the past. Isn’t this
surprising? At least this wasn’t what I had expected."
"We are blessed to be fellow pioneers and part
of a historical foundation of this online learning experience."
"This
sounds very exciting (and challenging), with so much
potential.
Thank you for this knitting together of collaborators."
"While
the technology still feels new to me, I am drawn to the group in that I
am someone who seeks spaces to reflect and reconsider my work with
others."
“One of the things that I especially enjoy is the
various ages and stages in life because it helps us to see things from
different perspectives.”
“As a relatively novice practitioner,
having a structure like the one you're proposing will help me feel more
grounded with the fundamentals of narrative therapy and allow me to
build on that basic level of understanding.”
"Sometimes I think if it were not for narrative therapy, I would have
given up on this field all together."
"I
hope that one day I can attend one of your trainings, but having you as
a guest author is a great opportunity for all of us. (Message posted to
Maggie Carey, guest author)."
"I am immensely heartened to think about the geographic representation
of the study group--so many time zones."
“This
group offers me a forum for this that I don't have anywhere else. I
love that I have met new people and carry them with me in my work.”
"I
am happiest when I yoyo back and forth between the world of big and
beautiful ideas and the detailed descriptions of everyday practices
that are expressions of these greater life commitments, hopes and
ideals."
“This group encourages me to use my imagination and to help the people
I see use theirs.”
“It
is the sense of community that is most important to me. I have begun to
see this study group as a kind of reflecting team, a sense of a
benevolent audience that I am sometimes aware of in my work, and that I
am 'reporting' to, afterwards."
" I find that the comments and ideas linger, and show up in my work
from time to time.”
"Here
I am with you poised to start the year once again with the stance I
wish to uphold and take in life, "Busying my brain with the pleasant
melodies of the song of love" as Rumi once put it."
