The purpose of this course is to critically examine contemporary issues and topics in the field of human development. This course will provide an overview of current theory and research related to development across the life span. Special emphasis will be placed on issues and debates that have dominated the field and continue to be a source of controversy and impetus for research. Using a multidisciplinary approach, we will explore social, cognitive, physical, and biological factors that can shape the course of human development. Attention will also be paid to how cultural context shapes and gives meaning to development.
This course is lead by a CSPP graduate and is designed the meet the pre-requisite requirement for the MFT program.

The Course is based on the textbook above. A Discussion Forum in the Moodle eLearning system is used to express what you have learned from the material and to interact with the Instructor. There are also class assignments and an extensive set of questions for self-review in preparation for a final exam.
