Through lecture and experiential exercises and video and live demonstration, participants learn the theoretical basis for EMDR, the criteria for its use and the basic protocol and procedures to implement it in an integrated therapy. This is part I of a two part EMDR Basic Training approved by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). Philip Manfield, PhD, is a psychotherapist in private practice in the Bay Area for over 25 years and has trained therapists in EMDR for the past ten years in the United States, Canada, Europe and the Middle East. He is author of Split Self/Split Object and editor and primary contributor to Extending EMDR: A Casebook of Innovative Applications.
