Transitioning Back to the Family: Multiple deployments have an impact not only on the soldier but also on his/her family. The families wait, worry and possibly grieve. This can lead to family distress and crisis that need community support services and emotional support.

In order to help facilitate the transition back, the class will prepare clinicians by providing an overview of the military community and the challenges of the military lifestyle. It will also look at deployment stress from both sides -- those we leave and those who stay home, as well as screening techniques and assessment of this stress. Finally, the class will discuss the mobilization of support systems and the resources available to the soldier and his family
