Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to explain the biological bases of PTSD symptoms. This will include history, symptomology, etiology, risk factors, and epidemiology.

Participants will be able to describe the pathophysiological alterations that correlate with PTSD symptoms and its comorbidities

Participants will be able to describe the use of psychophysiological strategies for PTSD, which may enable therapists to more effectively manage and reduce their patients’ symptoms.

Participants will be able to explain the significance of Heart Rate Variability and its role in a biofeedback-oriented treatment program

Dr. Zucker is a PTSD Researcher, with a special focus on the somatic aspects of PTSD.

With extensive experience as a Somatic Therapist, including years of work under a UN-funded program with survivors of political toture, Dr Zucker focuses on the body's arousal and extends our understanding of post-traumatic reactions into areas which have not been emphasized.
