PTSD: Integrating Behavioral and Pharmacological Approaches ~Web Lecture~ 2 Hrs Morgan Sammons, PhD, ABPP is Dean of the California School of Professional Psychology and a Captain in the US Navy (retired). He has been deployed in Iraq with a surgical company, and served as a Special Assistant to the Surgeon General of the US Navy for Mental Health and Traumatic Brain Injury. This class focuses on a phenomenological model for PTSD, not limited to post-combat situations. Dr. Sammons reviews some of the relevant literature on on biological and pharmacological models, as well psychotherapy. He recommends an approach which combines exposure therapy with therapeutic approaches to healing through determining, over time, the meaning of the traumatic event.
